Review of Jeffrey Campbell

Product range. Women's footwear that turns heads. Think sleek 1.75" heel blush suede sandals in vintage-inspired styles, studded thigh-high chunky heeled boots, wine velvet round toe platforms, Habanero boots with chile pepper design, patent pointy toe high boots, fur strapped heeled sandals, and the like. All in all, Jeffrey Campbell offer anything but an assortment of unassuming classics.

Originality. Lita by Jeffrey Campbell, the much lauded towering leather lace-up boots with covered platforms and chunky wooden heels, reigned supreme until the advent of cleated soles. Even though their look is subject to polarized discussions, it's beyond question that they are very comfortable to wear. The Lita hype is passé, but Jeffrey Campbell managed to reinvent themselves, if never reaching the same zeitgeist again.

Chic. All seasonal collections are replete with references to the most cutting edge footwear styles of the day. Jeffrey Campbell are not a stranger to blatant kitsch either (Stars & stripes western wedge booties definitely spring to mind), but this is the price one pays for never being accused.

Pricing. A pair of shoes costs from £30 to £250 with the average price being £120 or so.

Corporate history highlights. Jeffrey and Christine Campbell founded their footwear brand in Los Angeles in 2000. They launched the first line out of their garage, but a decade later the world saw the iconic Lita. The towering leather lace-up boots made the company an overnight success and became the dream shoes of the year for many fashion bloggers.
