Product range. Men's and women's denimwear including jeans, shorts, overalls, dresses, shirts, and jeans jackets. Also on offer is a modest choice of sweaters, sweatshirts, jackets, and tees. If compared to other cornerstone denim brands, Lee's product range is rather limited. That said, jeans are available in a variety of styles: classic straight, slim straight, skinny and flare jeans as well as relaxed/narrow fit and high/low rise jeans.
Chic. Lee jeans are denimwear classics. The company is out of trends and prefers to make uncomplicated basic items. Lee doesn't make trendy mom-jeans, for example.
Originality. High make quality know how is the number one competitive advantage of the company that learned all the ins and outs of the jeans process and can boast over 125 years of experience.
Pricing. On average, a pair of jeans costs €50.
Corporate history highlights. Lee was founded by Henry David Lee in 1889 in Kansas. Lee started out as a typical workwear company. The first claim to success was the Lee Union-All full-jacket overall introduced in 1913. Farmers, car mechanics, construction workers, and the military as well got enthusiastic about the novel jacket because it covered them from neck to feet protecting from dirt, chaff, and straw. Lee's signature 101 (also known as Cowboy Pant) style was introduced in 1926, and just like Levi's 501, it was never phased out since then. When James Dean and Marlon Brando signaled an ongoing change in the perception of jeans as causal clothing rather than workwear, Lee was not too quick to respond to the budding market. By the 1970s, however, the company already cemented its reputation as a leading casual clothing brand.
