Many pieces sold by Luisa Via Roma are luxury par excellence, they are much coveted by fashionistas worldwide.

Corporate history highlights. The history of Luisa Via Roma is as adventurous as it could be with a family-run business in Italy. A tiny Parisian hat store opened in the late 1920s by Luisa Jaquin with the help of her husband Lido Panconesi, started it all. When Lido Panconesi, an addicted gambler, went bankrupt, the couple fled to Brazil only to come back in 1930 to Florence, where Luisa reopened her boutique, this time located on Via Roma, Florence. It was, however, their nephew Andrea Panconesi, then a college student, who revolutionized the company by turning his aunt's modest store into a refined luxury boutique. To this end, he bought the 1968/69 collection by Kenzo, which proved a success and was instrumental in building the store reputation as a fashion innovator. By the 1980s, Andrea and his staff were habitúes of runway shows in Milan and Paris and bought there the best collections for their store. In December 1999, Luisa Via Roma launched its online store to meet global demand.
