Originality. Dockers shine when it comes to chinos, coloured cotton trousers made from cotton twill fabric. Sandi-ocher-coloured chinos are thought of as most traditional. The style championed by Dockers is unthinkable without chinos. They are part and parcel of that unassuming assemblage made up of a baseball cap, a tee, and a pair of trainers (by New Balance and the like). In 2014, when normcore reigned supreme, this outfit was a no-brainer for most of us.

Chic. Nowadays, even though the deadpan normcore of this kind has bored everybody to death, chinos by Dockers, just like Levi’s 501, have long enjoyed the status of a men's wardrobe essential.

Product range. Apart from chinos and a couple of dozen pants styles, Dockers stores are worth paying a visit to shop for suit jackets and desert boots (we suppose you're not religious about your Clarks, are you?).

Corporate history highlights. Dockers are a brand of Levi Strauss & Co launched in 1986. Chinos were invented by a British army officer in India in the 19th century. During the Spanish–American War of 1898, American infantrymen wear khaki-coloured hardwearing cotton twill pants that they borrowed from the British military. As the corporate legend has it, in 1985, a Levi’s merchandiser imported a pair "dockers trousers" from Hong Kong to San Francisco. In a mere year, the company launched Dockers.
