A guide to the best sportswear stores in Moscow
Trial-Sport, Decathlon and Sportmaster have long been the sportswear chains with the largest presence in Moscow. Just a tad lesser in terms of the number of stores are Intersport and Planeta Sport. All of them offer sportswear and equipment of all kinds: don't expect outstanding quality, but count on them for a comprehensive range of products and reasonable pricing. Professional athletes and wannabes, however, usually demand a wider array of specialist brands.
Moscow knows no lack of such niche stores catered to the needs of professionals in a variety of sports. For example, Runlab is a one-stop destination for all things related to running, as Proswim is for swimming, and Decostop is for diving and underwater hunting. You would be surprised, but there's even a kitesurfing specialist store named Kite. Cycle sport, snowboarding, and mountain skiing gear is available in abundance at Kant, Armada, HC5, and B-Shop.
At My Best Weekend they put emphasis on camping and hiking: camping tents, stuff sacks, and sleeping bags. All this plus weather-proof climbing outerwear items are available at Alpindustriya. Snowboards, skateboards, wakeboards, longboards, scooters, and all kinds of boardsports-related items are all available at Boardriders, Squat, Trajectory, Boardshop No. 1, and DC Boardshop. The premises of Flacon Design Factory host the Streetball store: within the retail space styled as a basketball court, the store offers reversible basketball jerseys, basketballs, and dedicated basketball shoes.
Well-established brands also open their stores catered to specific sports. Along these lines, Puma were quick to secure the retail space at Vegas Crocus City for their flagship Puma Forever Faster Store that offers sportswear for running, football, and gym exercises. The FV Sport multi-brand store located at the Tsvetnoy department stores carries the yoga and fitness brands rarely available elsewhere in Russia. Go no further then Podium Sport shop-in-shops by the Podium Market chain, when looking for collabs between sportswear brands and high-profile designers (think adidas by Stella McCartney and the like).
Running shoes and sneakers by adidas, Reebok, Nike, Puma, New Balance, Vans, Converse, and Asics are available in significant quantities at Sneakerhead, Drop, BNWT, Stride, Streetbeat, and Brandshop. If you're an adidas Superstar fan, it's also good to know that there's a dedicated adidas Superstar flagship store in Moscow.
